Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann was originally recorded by the German female singer Nena in the eighties as a single in Germany. It was featured on her third studio album Feuer und Flamme. In 2002, Nena celebrated twenty years as a recording artist with an album full of new versions of her hit songs. Together with the British female pop singer Kim Wilde - another pop icon of the eighties - she recorded the English version of Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann, entitled Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime. The song was released as a single in 2003 and became a top ten hit in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann werd in de jaren tachtig opgenomen door de Duitse popzangeres Nena als single voor de Duitse markt. De song verscheen tevens op Feuer und Flamme, haar derde studioalbum. In 2002 vierde Nena haar twintigjarigjubileum als artiest met een album vol nieuwe versies van haar hits. Samen met de Britse popzangeres Kim Wilde - eveneens een popicoon uit de jaren tachtig - nam ze de Engelstalige versie op van Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann,getiteld Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime. De song werd uitgebracht op single in 2003 en werd een toptienhit in Duitsland, Oostenrijk, Nederland en België.
Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann - der Hit von Nena aus den achtziger Jahren ist mittlerweile ein Evergreen. Spätestens seit Nena das Lied im Jahr 2003 in einer deutsch-englischen Adaption zusammen mit Kim Wilde neu aufnahm (und damit erneut die Hitparaden stürmte), kennt ihn wirklich jeder. Nun ist der Ohrwurm, dank der Bearbeitung von Foppe Jacobi, auch für Akkordeonensembles spielbar. Egal wo oder wann dieser Titel erklingt - die Aufmerksamkeit eines jeden Publikums ist gewiss!

Dem verstorbenen mongolischen Streifenlöwenwird in tiefer Trauer die letzte Ehre erwiesen, während die einfältige arktische Dumpfbacke so scheu ist, dass kaum jemand sie je gesehen hat. Der permanent kreischende, kolumbianische Schreiaffe ist dagegen kaum zu überhören.

A Discovery Fantasy is gebaseerd op de herkenningsmelodie van de televisieserie â??Op zoek naar muziekâ?. Dit programma, dat tussen 1986 en 1988 op de Nederlandse televisie te zien was, werd o.a. door de componist Jan de Haan samengesteld.Het nam de toeschouwer mee naar een bepaalde plaats of streek, om ze kennis te laten maken met de meest verschillende vormen van muziekbeoefening. Bij het schrijven van A Discovery Fantasy had de componist dit succesvolle televisieprogrammavoor ogen. De herkenningsmelodie wordt gevolgd door drie los van elkaar staande delen - een bolero, een rondo en een romantisch intermezzo - en net als bij een televisieprogramma eindigt het werk met een eindtun.
Jan de Haans abwechslungsreiche Komposition A Discovery Fantasy basiert auf der Erkennungsmelodie einer Musiksendung und enthält einen Bolero, ein Rondeau und ein romantisches Intermezzo.

Sketches from Dinsper vertelt in drie aaneengesloten delen een muzikaal verhaal over het Achterhoekse dorp Dinxperlo, aan de grens van Duitsland. Het eerste deel begint met de Batavierenrace, een studentenestafetteloop van de universiteitvan Nijmegen naar die van Twente, die na een route door Duitsland bij Dinxperlo weer de grens overgaat. Dit thema wordt afgewisseld met avontuurlijke en spannende maten waarin de smokkelaars worden verklankt die vroeger eenrol speelden aan weerszijden van de grens. In het tweede deel komt de jaarlijkse processie in Dinxperlo muzikaal tot uiting. Het derde deel start met de levendige klanken van de grensmarkt die jaarlijks op Hemelvaartsdag plaatsvindt.De feestelijkheden worden afgewisseld met koraalmatige klanken - die zijn gebaseerd op het kleinste kerkje van Nederland: een bezienswaardigheid. Beide elementen voeren het werk naar een pakkend einde.
Sketches from Dinsper sind musikalische Skizzen in drei zusammenhängenden Sätzen u?ber das holländische Dorf Dinxperlo (auf niedersächsisch: Dinsper) nahe der deutschen Grenze. Der erste Satz beginnt mit dem Rennen der Bataver, einem studentischen Staffellauf von Nijmegen nach Trente, der in Dinsper die Grenze u?berschreitet. Dieses Thema wechselt sich mit spannenden Takten ab, in denen es um die Schmuggler, die einst in der Region aktiv waren, geht. Im zweiten Satz wird die jährliche Prozession in Dinsper musikalisch wiedergegeben. Der dritte Satz beginnt mit den lebhaften Klängen des Grenzmarktes zu Pfingsten - im Wechsel mit choralähnlichen Klängen, die auf diekleinste Kirche der Niederlande anspielen. Beide Elemente fu?hren das Werk zu einem eingängigen Schluss.

In October 1997, Jacob de Haan visited the Swiss village of St. Moritz, where he worked as a conductor. The Mountains around St. Moritz were covered in marvelous autumn colors. The Colors, the quietness and nature itself inspired Jacob de Haan to compose this lyrical composition.
In oktober 1997 bezocht Jacob de Haan het Zwitserse St. Moritz. De bergen rondom waren getooid in schitterende herfstkleuren. De componist raakte in deze omgeving ge nspireerd door de kleuren, de rust en de natuur en schreef daaropzijn lyrische compositie Yellow Mountains, dat door Foppe Jacobi fraai is gearrangeerd voor accordeonorkest.
Herbst im schweizerischen St. Moritz: Die Berge sind in die unterschiedlichsten Herbstfarben getaucht und die Natur strahlt eine gelassene Ruhe aus. Jacob de Haan war im Oktober 1997 in dieser Umgebung und schrieb dort, von den Farben, der Ruhe und der Natur inspiriert, seine lyrische Komposition Yellow Mountains.
