Organ Coro I-The Missa in F of 1734 for two or four choirs is probably Pergolesi’s most important work for choir and orchestra. The nickname 'Missa Romana' was added later in reference to a performance given in Rome during Pergolesi’s lifetime. This Urtext edition presents the work for the first time in the four-choir version that Pergolesi wrote for the above mentioned performance in Rome. Choirs III and IV are reproduced in smaller type and are added to the version for double choir in order to intensify the overall sound. Sparrow Mass-Arrangement for female choir (SMezAA) based on the Urtext of the ?New Mozart Edition?.Straightforward Piano reduction.Mozart?s ?Missa in C major? (K. 220) nicknamed the ?Sparrow Mass? for its frequently recurring characteristic motifs in the violins has retained a firm place in the choral repertoire to the present day. Now it has been arranged for female choir and is appearing as part of the recently started ?Bärenreiter Female Choir? series.Heribert Breuer has judiciously transferred the tenor and bass solos to the high voices and incorporated the original soprano and alto parts largely unchanged into the solo and chorusparts. He has thereby retained the work?s original substance while giving it a wholly new and delightful sound.Heribert Breuer was professor of choral conducting and music theory at Berlin University of the Arts until 2010. He is the founder and director of the Berlin Bach Akademie and has made a name for himself with his many arrangements of works from Bach to Schubert. The vocal score is compatible with the performance material of the original work for mixed chorus BA 5343.

Serenade in three parts-Handel set the myth about the love of the shepherd Acis for the sea nymph Galatea from Ovid?s ?Metamorphoses? a total of three times: in the cantata ?Aci Galatea e Polifemo? HWV 72 (1708) the masque ?Acis and Galatea? HWV 49a (1718) and finally the pasticcio-like serenata ?Acis and Galatea? HWV 49b (1732) of which the original version is now made available in its complete form for the first time. A particular charm is provided by the use of two languages in the serenata. The work was originally conceived in English as was required for the first performance. However Handel?sItalian singers were criticised for their poor command of English ? so in the end many numbers were sung in Italian. The extensive appendix to the vocal score includes the additional arias and newly composed movements for the versions used in the 1734 and 1736 performances. - Urtext edition based on the ?Halle Handel Edition? - English and Italian original text with singable German translation - Extensive foreword in two languages (Ger/Eng) - Clear straightforward piano reduction - Full score (BA10700) and vocal score (BA10700-90) available for sale performance material (BA10700-72) for hire
