This marvellous Art Nouveau bronze bust, signed by Hermann Gladenbeck, portrays the famous Viennese composer Ludwig van Beethoven in his early years. The sculpture is made of 100% bronze and mirrors the young Beethovens facial features perfectly without too manyuch details. This is typical of the founders works. The bronze plinth, on which the bust is set contains various engravings of instruments, several leaves and the name of the musician. With its fantastic art work, this bust is a must-have for every fan of Beethoven as well as any other lover of fine portraits.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
Ludwig van Beethoven, the composer portrayed in this sculpture, was born on December 17, 1770 in Bonn and died on March 26, 1827 in Vienna. He is known all over the world for famous compositions such as Egmont or Fidelio. Ludwig van Beethoven was not only a representative of the Viennese Classicism, but he also is said to have set the stage for Romanticism. Due to his deafness, Ludwig van Beethoven narrowed the number of his compositions down in his later years, but the disease nevertheless was not able to completely break him and prevent him from composing.
