This collection contains the most beautiful and technically easy of Mozart's Piano pieces and dances. These miniatures can be used to enliven Piano instruction and convey valuable insight into the richness of the composer's music.

Composed just three years before Mozart's premature death theSonata in C K.545 has become perhaps his most widely known composition for piano. The piece was probably written for one of Mozart's pupils though it was not published during his lifetime. It has since come to symbolise in miniature the dominant elements of the Mozart style: clarity melodic charm and exquisite balance. These characteristics epitomise the music of the Viennese classical period of the late 18th century.The three-movement work opens with an elegant Allegro followed by a tuneful Andante and concludes with a light-hearted Rondo finale.This version ofMozart's popular work has been edited by Randall Faber.

Mozart's lieder reveal him to be a dramatist in miniature. Even if he failed to cultivate this genre systematically he nevertheless directed his creative powers toward the lied at all stages of his career. His first effort (now lost) was written at the age of six or seven and he took up the genre again and again at irregular intervals down to the final year of his life. None the less Mozart usually chose to write a lied only when there was a special occasion for doing so. Even the preface to the firt complete edition of his lieder published in 1799 by Breitkopf & Härtel refers to them as 'occasional pieces' as does the Leipzig Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung inthe same year. Mozart himself doubtless regarded these ingenious little works as 'pieces for friends' and was not disposed to think of them as particularly significant. And Sinfonia Concertante Miniature Score-These three charming instrumental pieces composed by Mozart in the 1770s and 1780s were among a number of serenades he wrote during this period to provide an evening’s entertainment at weddings birthdays and home concerts for his friends and patrons.
