Welcome to The Fender Archives - part history, part archive, part scrapbook, and part treasure chest. The source (sauce!) of inspiration for this work was somewhat unusual. Whilst on tour with a youth brass group, Kazys Daugėla ate a Piri-Piri salad that had a wickedly hot sauce. He jokingly told his fellow band members that one day he would write a piece to celebrate this mouth watering experience. The result was this Hot and Spicy piece garnished with a light mambo rhythm! Een piripirisalade van scherpe pepertjes! Dat was de nogal ongewone inspiratiebron voor Daugela om dit werk te componeren. Bij het proeven van het behoorlijk pittige gerecht 'smeekte' de componist om een middel waarmee hij de pittigheidkon verminderen. Dat kon hij krijgen, als hij beloofde een nieuwe compositie te schrijven. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan: Daugela kreeg eenvoudigweg olie. En dit energieke, doch gemakkelijk speelbare werk in mamboritme? Dat was zijntegenprestatie. Een smaakvol geschenk waarvan nu ook uw blaasorkest kan 'proeven'!Ein Piri-Piri-Salat mit scharfen Pfefferschoten, der dem Komponisten bei einer Party mit einem Jugendblasorchester serviert worden war, wurde zur ungewöhnlichen Inspirationsquelle zu diesem Stück. Daugėla musste den jungen Musikern für ein Mittel zur Linderung der Schärfe eine neue Komposition versprechen. Das Mittel war simples Salatöl und dieses pfeffrige, leicht spielbare Stück im Mambo-Rhythmus ist das Resultat des Handels, von dem nun jedes Blasorchester profitieren kann!Le piri piri est un piment plein de feu originaire d'Angola et adopté par les Portugais, qui l’utilisent pour épicer presque tous les plats. Surpris par le piquant (hot) de ce petit piment dont il faut user avec beaucoup de modération, Kazys Daugéla en eut le souffle coupé mais s’en inspira pour composer cette petite œuvre pimentée (spicy). Il piri piri è una spezia molto piccante originaria dell’Angola e utilizzata in Portogallo per condire molti piatti. Sorpreso dal sapore piccante (hot) di questo piccolo peperoncino, da gustare con molta moderazione, il piri piri, pur causando un gradevole disagio al compositore, lo ha ispirato a mporre questo brano molto speziato.
