'Klassik für Kinder' wants to introduce clarinet pupils to the beauty of Baroque, Classical and Romantic concert literature. Cautiously, not only original clarinet literature was taken up, but catchy tunes and themes from the opera (The Freeshooter, The Magic Flute and others) and the concert hall (Four Seasons, Capriccio Italy, Reverie and others) were used as well. The edition starts with a piece from the Renaissance period, followed by the great composers of the Baroque, European Classical and Romantic eras and completed by several discoveries off the common concert programmes (Blasius, Reinagel, Sullivan). Four centuries of music history which will make the pupils enjoy classical music. The pieces are presented in easy arrangements and can be mastered after about two years of tuition, with the three-line octave being left out. Contenu - V. Even Mozart had to learn how to play the piano. This collection of easy works includes pieces composed by both young Mozart and by his father, for his piano lessons. pour fl?te et piano-Pierre Boulez a ?crit sa Sonatine pour fl?te et piano en janvier et f?vrier 1946 puis en a fait une r?vision d?taill?e en avril 1949. Sa version r?vis?e de l??uvre est parue en 1954 chez Amphion (DA 163). Devant les erreurs d?impression de cette premi?re ?dition une ?dition corrig?e ?tait souhaitable depuis quelque temps. Pierre Boulez a donc aujourd?hui saisi l?occasion d?effectuer en plus des modifications et des compl?ments issus de l?exp?rience de la pratique de l?ex?cution de l??uvre. ? c?t? des indications concernant la dynamique et l?articulation les changements concernent essentiellement des d?tails de l?agogique et du tempo. Toutes les corrections ont ?t? approuv?es personnellement par Pierre Boulez.

Sadie Harrison's A Not-So-Sonatine for Double Bass and Piano. Composed in 2013 and revised and published in 2016. Duration: 10 minutes.A Not-So-Sonatine is so called as it is rather more than a sonatine being uncharacteristically virtuosic for both Double Bass and Piano. This is a light-hearted piece which references the plethora of accessible mid-twentieth century sonatines with delight! The second movement is also known as Josie’s Piece premiered by Josie Jobbins in 2014 at the Taunton Young Musician of the Year Final. ANot-So-Sonatine is dedicated to the virtuoso bassist David Heyes. The work is in four movements: Molto moto!Molto cantabileMolto scherzandoMolto brillante! A Not-So-Sonatine was premiered at the Auditorio de Almuñecar (Granada Spain) on 30th November 2015 by bassist Frano Kakarigi and pianist Juan José Muñoz Cañivano.Watch a video of this performance: 

French composer and conductor Henri Tomasi (1901-1971) published Sonatine for solo Flute in 1949. As with his other wind compositions  Sonatine was well-received by audiences. Tomasi was born in Marseille but his Father and Mother were originally from La Casinca in Corsica. Despite being pressured into musical studies by his parents Tomasi dreamed of becoming a sailor and during the summer he stayed with his Grandmother in Corsica where he learnt traditional Corsican songs. However in 1921 he began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire and went on to become a high profilecomposer and conductor. Tomasi did not forget his Corsican routes often incorporating themes of the songs he had learnt during the summers with his Grandmother in to his compositions. Sonatine for solo Flute is a highly unusual complex and modern work in three movements; 1) Prelude and Scherzo 2) Pastorale and 3) Finale. This Tomasi piece is suitable to advanced flautsits providing an exciting alternative addition to the instrument's repertoire.
