Listen To The Lambs was written in 1914 drawing its text from an older spiritual song I Want To Go To Heaven When I Die. It is arranged for eight-part mixed chorus and is known for the way it cleverly mixes passages of partial and full choir and thick and thin textures to create a poignant and moving work. Robert Nathaniel Dett (1882-1943) was an African-American Canadian composer and singer who fused together European classical styles with Negro spirituals and was comfortable with a wide range of repertoire. In 1914 he was working with the choir at the Hampton Institute in Hampton Virginia.

Missa Solemnis In B Flat (or 'Harmoniemesse') is the last major work completed by Haydn written when he was 70 years old and at the very height of his creative powers and represents the final summation of a long artistic life.Missa Solemnis is a very substantial work written for solo quartet a four-part chorus of mixed voices organ and (Classical) orchestra. This version edited by William Herrmann contains all voice parts and a piano reduction of the orchestral score.

The well-known aria announcing the barber's entrance — 'Figaro!… Eh Figaro!' — highlights this comic romp of an opera. Based on Beaumarchais' Le Barbier de Seville Rossini's 1816 classic began as Almaviva or the Useless Precaution in an attempt to avoid confusion with a highly successful Il Barbiere di Siviglia of a half-century earlier. An opening night fiasco and persistent interruptions during the premiere by fans of the older play were but momentary detours on the path of this masterpiece to international fame. With the now-famous overture in place the work reached the operatic capitals of the world becoming the first opera to be sung in Italian in NewYork. Ideal for conductors soloists chorus members and rehearsal pianists this practice and performance vocal score is based on the classic 1900 Schirmer edition.
