Opus 81 has long been one of the pieces of chamber music most frequently played internationally.

Giuseppe Maria Cambini, né à Livourne probablement en 1746, n'a pas seulement écrit des opéras et des symphonies, mais aussi plus de 100 quintettes à cordes pour deux violons, alto et deux violoncelles. Ses oeuvres se caractérisent par une mélodie douce et fluide inspiré par le son des cordes. Les solos virtuoses qui sont assez communs dans quintettes de concert recul en faveur de passages cantabile. Tilman Sieber ('Das klassische Streichquintett - Die Geschichte einer Gattung dans Einzelwerken ') a édité les partitions autographes et présente maintenant Quintette à cordes n o 84 en ré majeur, une oeuvre de musique de chambre exigeante. / 2 Violons, 2 Violoncelles Et Alto

Une publication à ne pas manquer pour tous les ensembles à cordes! Suite en effet aux découvertes récentes relatives aux sources il a été possible d?optimiser sur de nombreux détails le texte musical de ce classique du catalogue Henle. Le matériel des parties instrumentales revu et corrigé de tous les quintettes à cordes de Beethoven est désormais disponible après plusieurs années de recherches dans une gravure améliorée. Ce matériel est bien entendu accompagné d?une «StudienEdition» (HN 9267).?

Clarinet Quintet in A major op. 146-With his Clarinet quintet begun in 1915 Reger was remembering his role models Mozart and Brahms whose works in this genre he particularly admired. This melancholic quintet that is worked through in a strictlymotivic way was to be Reger’s last opus.Shortly after he had sent it to his publisher he died of heart attack in May 1916. The quintet was to become his swan song first performed at a memorial for the composer on6 November 1916. Almost one hundred years later we are now publishing it for the first time in an Urtext edition edited by the Reger scholar Michael Kube.

Mozart has written a total of six quintets for 2 Violins 2 Violas and Cello and here are 3 of them in authoritative Urtext format: String Quintet in C K.515 String Quintet in G minor K.516 and String Quintet in C minor K.406(516b). Score available on HN9778.

Ever since Mozart encountered the Clarinet in Mannheim in 1778 he loved the instrument?s warm and expressive tone. His friendship with Anton Stadler the clarinetist in the Royal-Imperial Court Orchestra in Vienna prompted him to compose not only the Clarinet Concerto (K. 622) but also this ?Quintet of Quintets? which was written two years before his death. Like almost all his works for the Clarinet this Quintet wasprobably intended originally for the Basset Clarinet. However it survives only in two posthumous prints both of which call for a standard Clarinet. These prints form the basis of our edition. As an added bonus the appendixcontains a fragmentary Allegro in Bb major for the same combination of instruments.
