Relatively difficult, it features the score and the Violin part. Really melodious, it includes numerous trills, harmonies, accidentals, acciaturas and some indications of the positions and techniques to use. The breathings are also indicated. It is a really nice work to play in recitals and can also be used for contests. Pierre Rode (1774-1830) was a French violinist and musician who composed numerous romantic concertos for Violin and Piano. He was the violin soloist to Napoleon and was dedicated a violin sonata (Op.96) by Beethoven.

The world-famous Hungarian composer Kamilló Lendvay (b. 1928) has written not only operas, oratorios, cantatas, symphonies, concertos, chamber music and solo instrumental works but also a considerable number of pieces for wind ensembles. His Wind Symphony, composed in 2007-2008, consists of four movements: I. Invocation of the Muse - II. Sunrise in Copacabana - III. The Iguazu Falls - IV. Rio Carnival. Intermezzo is the second movement of Satoshi Yagisawa’s Clarinet Concerto. The concerto was first performed by Higashi-Hiroshima Wind Ensemble in Hiroshima, Japan in 2010 with guest performer Shinsuke Hashimoto, clarinettist with the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra and was conducted by Atsushi Kageyama. Inspiration for this work came from the fact that both Satoshi Yagisawa and Shinsuke Hashimoto graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae.Clarinet Concerto>/I> is the pinnacle of Satoshi Yagisawa’s “Concerto Series” which also features his Suite Concertante for Piano and WindOrchestra, Trumpet Concerto, Trombone Concerto, Saxophone Concertino, andConcertino for Solo Percussion and Wind Orchestra.Yagisawa’s characteristic heartfelt theme in the second movement is especially popular and consequently—entitled Intermezzo—it is often performed independently.Soloist: Grade 4 Intermezzo is het tweede deel van Satoshi Yagisawa’s Clarinet Concerto.
