One Light Choral (SATB)

David Bednall's Pure Living Light for SATB and Organ. This radiant anthem explores the theme of light with luminescent harmonies a virtuosic Organ part and soaring Vocal lines. The text is by Dr Marcus Tomalin after Dante's Paradiso and Bednall's word painting is highly effective. A compelling climax as the singers tell of the 'pure living light shining' falls away to a powerful unaccompanied moment before the organ picks up a motif and develops it in a majestic interlude. Gabriel Jackson's O Thou That Art The Light for SATB unaccompanied.This exquisite miniature sets an intimate prayer by St Augustine of Hippo asking for God's grace to know and serve Him. Simple and homophonic it is infused with Jackson's characteristic passion and luminosity and would be ideal as a general purpose introit or used specifically within a Service of Light.

POD-Pawe ukaszewski's Daylight Declines for SSATBB choir unaccompanied. Daylight Declines was commissioned by the Canatrix Choir the Netherlands and features a translation of anoriginal text by Andrzej Trzecieski. This vocal work was inspired by the motet on the same text by Waclaw z Szamotul (c.1533-68). Daylight declines the night advanceswe ask the Lord fordeliverance that He our Guardian remain protecting us from evil domainof spirits who always in the darkupon their treachery embark.(trans. ComposerShawn Crouch has crafted music that flows as if one long line or brushstroke of continuous sound. The Light Of Common Day was commissioned by Tom Cunningham and the Manhattan Choral Ensemble andis dedicated to Kathleen Lockwood. The piece has been recorded by Seraphic Fire on their album Reincarnation: A Century of American Choral Music.

Including the well known tune of the title song Grease the iconic duets Summer Nights and You’re the One That I Want the familiar ‘rama lama lama ka dingitty ding de dongs’ of We Go Together and Rock’n’Roll Party Queen this clever arrangement by Roger Emerson for SATB (Soprano Alt Tenor Bass) Voices and Piano accompaniment with optional Guitar chords will have audiences on their feet throughout.
