Jorge Cardoso is a recognized performer who has travelled the world over giving hundreds or concerts as a soloist, in duos, and with orchestras. There are innumerable recordings of his performances, and he is a prolific composer whose works have been recorded by other guitarists in more than thirty albums. Father Antonio Soler was born in Spain in 1729. Priest and composer he was also a brilliant exponent of the Harpsichord and composed more than two hundred sonatas for that instrument as well as concertos for the Organ ninemasses and sixty psalm settings part of a total output of around five hundred works.  These Three Sonatas are composed for Guitar duet. Appointed Master of the Chapel to the royalmonastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial he died there in 1783.

These works are fairly evenly divided with reference to their position in the composer?s output and also to the composers? age: three of the six are early works(Farrell Bromhead and Fennessy) while the remaining three were produced during the composers? more mature years (O?Leary Sweeney and Bodley); also three generations of living composers are represented.
