No matter the occasion, string quartets are always in demand. Music for Celebrations features eight works by composers ranging from Marc-Antoine Charpentier to Charles Gounod which rank among the most popular wedding classics, with many of the pieces also well suited for other occasions. The arranger Anthony Gröger has succeeded in transforming the works, some of which originally had extensive instrumentation, into compelling string quartet arrangements that are also easy to play while preserving much of the familiar character of the originals. The third violin part, which can replace the viola part if no violist is available, is an added bonus.

Someone asked Mr. Walters, Why write an Easter cantata that's completely focused on the resurrection experience? He replied, Simple. I just thought it was time. After a week of music dedicated to the persecution, death and apparent failure that immediately preceded the resurrection, how much time is left, then, for us to celebrate the gift Jesus gave us? And so generously and completely? Here, then, is his talented response: a glorious compendium of anthems celebrating and rejoicing in the victory of the cross and the beginning, once again, of personal renewal.

These days, many concert bands celebrate their centenary--this provided a good reason to compose the Centennial Celebration. This work has a festive, harmonious and optimistic vibe. A joyful introduction is followed by a lyrical passage with an enticing melody, after which the same theme can be heard in a pop style variation. Next is a kind of trio with a melody that will linger in your mind. Lively sounds bring us back to the lyrical main theme once more, but this time exuberant, like a pop ballad. Finally, we hear the festive sounds of the introduction again, now as a lustrous conclusion.
