a minor op. 114-Johannes Brahms?s late chamber works are surely among the most splendid music ever written for the clarinet. In the last years of his life Brahms seems to have become weary of composing but fortunately for posterity in 1891 hemet the solo clarinettist of the Meiningen court orchestra Richard Mühlfeld whose mellifluous art of performance captivated him and inspired him to new works. The Trio op. 114 is melancholy and autumnal in character and isloved by all clarinettists. It is now available from Henle in a revised edition. Brahms?s manuscript of his op. 114 lies in Munich the home city of G. Henle Publishers. The musical text follows that of the New Brahms CompleteEdition and thus guarantees the highest degree of precision and reflects the current state of research. The pianist Klaus Schilde has added valuable fingerings to this Urtext edition.

Piano Sonata in C major Hob. XVI:48. This Haydn sonata has previously not been available in the Henle catalogue as an individual Urtext edition. Nevertheless, it numbers among Haydn?s famous piano works. It was written in 1789 (thus making it one of the ?late sonatas?) for the Leipzig publisher Christoph Gottlob Breitkopf. Its two-movement structure fathoms the entire spectrum of Haydn?s musical language: from the brooding-improvisational first movement to the sparkling, humorous Finale. Haydn exploits here the full range of the keyboard and its tonal possibilities. The world-famous pianist Piotr Anderszewski has contributed his fingerings for this Henle Urtext edition and invites you to explore this extraordinary work!

The original unsimplified version of one of Debussy's most popular Piano works. This ethereal flowing section of Suite Bergamasque is diatonic and displays a conventional harmonic vocabulary in D-flat major. The title Clair De Lune suggests a relationship to Paul Verlaine's eponymous poem describing a vision of long-dead dancers in the moonlight. Par IVES CHARLES. Volume 3 of The Complete Shorter Piano Works of Charles Ives is a compilation of miscellaneous works by Ives. These works range from small-scale early pieces to larger scale settings of music related to the Concord_x001A_Sonata. Johannes Brahms’ late Piano works in the form of the two editions HN 36 (paperbound) and 37 (clothbound) have been a cornerstone of the Henle catalogue ever since the early 1950s. In 2011 the volume with Pianopieces (HN 6014) was published in the new Brahms Complete Edition an edition of these important works that reflected the latest in scholarly research. Having already published single volumes of the Urtext editions ofopus numbers 76 79 and 116 119 with the up-to-date musical text in the Complete Edition Henle are now rounding off this Brahms project by publishing the revised volume of collected works available as a classicpaperbound clothbound or handy study edition. Complete Piano Sonatas II-Piano works were at the centre of Alexander Scriabin's compositional output. As an outstanding pianist he began writing mainly miniatures for his instrument in the style of Romantic Piano pieces. But it was also Scriabin who unlike any other composer of his generation contributed to the continuation of the sonata tradition. Particular milestones in his output were Sonatas nos. 4 and 5 of 1903 and 1907 in which we hear forms and harmonies not heard previously. When these works are occasionally given the name 'Poème' Sonatas this indicates that they stem from the time and allude to the compositional context of Scriabin'sdaring Orchestral works 'Le Divin Poème' and 'Le Poème de l´exstase'. The editor Christoph Flamm is an expert in Russian music particularly Piano music. His research for example into Nikolai Medtner and the editions based on these findings are regarded as standard works. For his Bärenreiter edition of Scriabin's Sonata no. 5 Christoph Flamm has drawn on sources which were until recently regarded as lost or could only be consulted with great difficulty.
