The new Finer in Minor With beautiful, easy to moderately difficult, familiar and above all not so familiar pieces, our bestseller Finer in Minor has now been a companion for many generations on their way to the wonderful works of major piano literature. In the meantime, the sister edition Greater in Major (EB 8936) expands the sound palette, showing that playing the piano in a major key is, of course, just as beautiful as playing in a minor key! In the course of preparing it, the desire for freshness and renewal of the well-established minor-key edition developed. Editors and publishing house finally gave in and decided on a revised and expanded new edition. The outer appearance has been adapted to its major-key twin, and inside the edition, things look new and different, too. New composers and even more pieces expand the range of minor-key music to include new worlds of sound and feeling. Thus, playing the piano is simply great - with Greater in Major and Finer in Minor ! Voices to the 1st edition: It is a good collection of easy pieces and well edited. (Music Teacher) The publisher began with a novel idea and invested their faith in its success by producing a bright, colorful album that will easily catch the eye of the potential buyer. (Trevor Barnard, Music Teacher)The editors of the Keyboard Crocodile have delved into music history's treasure chest of piano literature and come up with some gems in the minor mode that offer major enjoyment.MP3 audiofiles, performed by Aki Sakae, are to be found in the download section or on YouTube. The Urtext new edition presented here is based above all on the original parts of Bach's Overture (Suite) No. 2 in B minor BWV 1067 presented in the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preussischer Kulturbesitz. The copies made by Christian Friedrich Penzel (parts 1755c, score 1760c), which are also located there, were consulted for purposes to use these sources for this edition. When the concertante flute and the first violin play in unison, the performance instructions and expression marks are often not identical in the score. In this edition, the markings missing in one instrument were borrowed from the other, albeit designated as additions so that performers are free to adjust their parts at will.In his arrangement for flute and harpsichord (piano), Werner Breig has consistently opted for the elegance and lightness of the original version for flute, strings and continuo. Wherever it was difficult to adapt the string part of the famous B minor Suite to the piano, he followed the precept that less is more and showed his true mastery as an arranger by leaving things out. The flute part, however, has remained unchanged, which allows this new edition for flute and harpsichord (piano) to be used for studying and rehearsing the piece in its original setting. The Urtext new edition presented here is based above all on the original parts of Bach's Overture (Suite) No. 2 in B minor BWV 1067 presented in the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preussischer Kulturbesitz.

New to the Carl Fischer family, Abeni Janae (b. 2001) brings a fresh voice in her arrangement of this wonderfully rich African American spiritual. Accessible for mixed choirs of all sizes and abilities, there is pathos and passion in every phrase.Keep in mind what this spiritual text represents, especially if you can relate to it on a personal level. Since it is a traditional spiritual, it is important to use appropriate pronunciations. That means it is acceptable not to pronounce some of the words the way we normally would in American English. For example: Do not pronounce the “t” in “little” too much, opting to pronounce it closer to “liddle.” Do not pronounce the “-er” in “longer” too much, opting to pronounce it as “lon-guh.” Whether or not the choir sings with much or minimal vibrato is at the discretion of the conductor/director.Mostly, have fun singing this piece! If you have any further questions about the background of this piece or anything of the sort, feel free to contact me at missabenijanae@gmail.com.

In this work I gave everything I had to give. [...] What I did here I will never do again.Camille Saint-Saens was justifiably proud of his Symphony No. 3 in C minor op. 78, dedicated to the memory of Franz Liszt. Like Beethoven's Ninth, this so-called Organ Symphony was commissioned by the Philharmonic Society in London, where it received its premiere on 19 May 1886.In this first scholarly-critical edition of the symphony, a great many inconsistencies and mistakes inherent in the previously used edition have been unveiled and corrected. The edition of Symphony No. 3 marks the launch of a large-scale project: the publication of Camille Saint-Saens - Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works. This performing Urtext edition is based on volume BA 10303 from that series.* First scholarly-critical edition of this famous symphony based on Camille Saint-Saens aEUR Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works* Now with separate parts for all winds* Orchestral parts in a large format (25.5 cm x 32.5 cm).

Between Beethoven and Brahms, a long neglected workSchumann's last work for solo instrument and orchestra was not given its premiere until 1937, at which time it was also released in an editorially inadequate version. A re-evaluation of Schumann's late oeuvre began in the 1980s, in the wake of which the missing link between the concertos of Beethoven and Brahms (Yehudi Menuhin) also drew increasing attention. Since then, those in the know have come to appreciate the work, whose unique musical and technical demands challenge for both interpreter and listener. This new edition of what is perhaps the most underestimated masterpiece of the Romantic era is the first meticulously prepared Urtext edition of the score. Nothing short of incredible is the fact that the composer's own piano reduction from which Clara Schumann and Joseph Joachim played the piece is being published here for the first time! Thomas Zehetmair, who has significantly contributed to the re-assessment of the concerto, assumed the task of providing a sound technical basis to his revision of the solo part.Perhaps this edition will help stimulate awareness and appreciation of this unjustly forgotten romantic violin concerto described by Menuhin as the missing link between the concertos by Beethoven to Brahms.
