Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry is often thought of as a choral composer but he was prolific in most genres. The Sonnets and Songs Without Words are influenced by Mendelssohn's piano works similarly entitled Songs Without Words. The pieces were written over 10 years and were originally published in three sets. All three sets are combined in this fantastic volume.
