Scheidemann étudie avec Sweelinck à Amsterdam 1611-1614 et a travaillé comme organiste à l'église de St Katherine à Hambourg pour une bonne décennies de trois ans et demi de 1629. La nouvelle édition contient deux oeuvres nouvelles supplémentaires, les fantaisies de chorale ' Allein zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ ' et ' Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott '. Ils ont été initialement attribués à Franz Tunder, mais, basé sur les plus récentes recherches style-critique, doivent être attribuée à Heinrich Scheidemann./ Répertoire / Orgue

Im Schülerkreis um J. S. Bach nimmt Johann Ludwig Krebs eine Schlüsselposition ein. Als einer der begabtesten Eleven Bachs galt Krebs bereits zu Lebzeiten als außergewöhnlicher Komponist und Organist mit virtuosen Fähigkeiten. Beim Studium seines umfangreichen Orgelschaffens spürt man seine großen organistischen Fähigkeiten, die sich in einer virtuosen Finger- und Pedaltechnik äußern. Auf kompositorischem Gebiet begegnet uns Krebs als ein die kontrapunktischen Regeln perfekt beherrschender Künstler. Neben der perfekten Nachahmung seines Lehrmeisters Bach hatte sich Krebs auch den neuen galanten und empfindsamen Tendenzen seiner Zeit zugewandt. Er zeigte sich damit sehr aufgeschlossen gegenüber den zu seiner Zeit aufkommenden neuen musikalischen Strömungen, die in seinen Kompositionen eine besondere Rolle spielen. / Orgue

Cantata for the Feast of St. Michael-Herr Gott dich loben alle wir (Lord God we praise Thee all of us) BWV 130Cantata for the Feast of St. MichaelComposed for Michaelmas 1724 Bach's cantata 'Herr Gott dich loben alle wir' belongs to the cycle of chorale cantatas which uses a hymn as perhaps various preachers also did to interptet the ideas of the Biblical texts. The hymn used here composed by Paul Eber in 1554 has twelve stanzas. Texts for two recitatives and two arias were written to go with each of stanzas 2 to 10. Bach used the first stanza as a processional and the last two stanzas were made into a concluding chorale withthe original text.- Urtext of the New Bach Edition

This cantata combines two texts: “Erhalt uns Herr bei deinem Wort” and “Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich. ” The Lübeckisches Gesangbuch of 1703 included both hymns, with a verse by Johann Walter added, to the melody “Erhalt uns Herr. ” This was the basis for Buxtehude’s composition. The copy of the tabulature of this cantata in the Düben Collection can be dated to the summer or autumn months of 1687. The composition consists of a four-part homophonic performance of the chorale verses, with a ritornello played by the accompanying instruments between the verses.
