Robinson's TBB arrangement of this beloved Bennett madrigal, originally published for four voices in 1599, has been changed from the original key of A minor to the key of D minor, making the ranges and texture more characteristic for TBB voices. A wonderful concert or festival staple piece!.Weep, O Mine Eyes is a classic madrigal from the Renaissance period (circa 1400-1650). Although John Bennet's exact birth and death dates are unknown, we know that he was English and composed madrigals (non-sacred a cappella pieces) in the late 16th - early 17th centuries. Although, Bennet was not as prolific as other madrigal writers of the time, such as Thomas Morley, Weep, O Mine Eyes has certainly stood the test of time. Originally published in a book of 17 madrigals for four voices in 1599, this arrangement for TBB voices has been changed from the original key of A minor to the key of D minor, making the ranges and texture more characteristic for TBB voices. The original flavor of Bennet's four-part setting has been preserved, including the counterpoint (independent voices) where each voice is of equal importance. In Renaissance style no parts should over sing; the beauty of the melodic lines and text should come through and over singing will take away from the beauty. The EE vowel is sometimes problematic in the word weep. I suggest that you produce the EE vowel with OO on the lips and EE inside the mouth for better blend and to avoid a horizontal spreading of the vowel. Enjoy this wonderful madrigal!.Weep, O Mine Eyes is a classic madrigal from the Renaissance period (circa 1400-1650). This work was composed as a commission by the Aikodai Meiden High School Symphonic Band, for the 50th anniversary of their annual concert; the title A Golden Jubilation is a reference to this. The close friendship between Hiroki Ito, theconductor of the band, and Satoshi Yagisawa resulted in this brilliant and exhilarating fanfare of approximately two minutes in length; the piece is ideal to use as a concert opener. The original composition was arranged for an extremely wide rangeof instruments and a band of 200 musicians, including a separate ‘banda’, harp and a variety of special instruments. This new version has been rescored for standard band instrumentation by the composer himself. Composed in the late period, around 1740 A lively discussion about the choral movement Nun ist das Heil und die Kraft has been carried on, in which not only all previous assumptions have been called into question - including Bach's authorship - but also show how little we know about the history of this magnificent movement. Even though there is little to refute the 1982 presumption that the work was handed down in the form of an arrangement, the question remains open concerning the identity of the arranger, as well as the alleged form of the original design. Therefore it seemed appropriate to forego any attempts at reconstruct-ion. Rather, for the present new edition the music has been critically examined and commented upon based on the surviving copy from Bach's circle. A new edition of the Neujahrs-Kantate, which previously appeared in an edition based on manuscript copies from the 19th century. The present edition is based on a manuscript from 1762 which was first discovered in 1971; this source varies considerably from the previously known manu-scripts and it presents a clearer version of the cantata. The G major mass of Mozart followed a very special type of mass pattern, namely, that of the Missa pastoralis. In Mozart's time it was a widespread type of mass, especially in Bohemia and Italy, in which melodies and rhythms like those familiar from pastoral Christmas music were frequently found. The themes in this type of mass are song-like and often make use of folksongs or references to well-known tunes. This work is now available in carus music, the choir app!
