With this 6th volume of L'Ouverture à la musique, we are continuing our educational approach, at the heart of which the idea of a sensory hearing base is a prerequisite. While continuing the development of rhythmic and melodic parameters in the rest of the previous volumes, we emphasize here the mastery of scales, modulations, of the tonal system in general, but also of natural modes and other scales, without forgetting the development of perception of the most important degrees by the feeling of the four main cadences. One work, Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg, serves as a common thread for this work; throughout the chapters, numerous extracts are thus integrated into the progression.
