“Three Cabaret Songs” were arranged for the United States Coast Guard Band by MUC Ian Frenkel, and presented at the 2009 Midwest Clinic, this deft arrangement may be heard on Mark CD 8543. “George” was orchestrated for wind ensemble by the composer in that same year. In 2014, two more Frenkel arrangements were added to the set at the request of Kansas University for Mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle, and premiered at KU by Ms. Castle under the baton of Paul Popiel on October 6, 2014. Aanvankelijk was hij werkzaam in de handel, maar de wereld van de muziek lokte.Toen hij 24 was, begon hij zijn muzikale carrière als cabaretpianist. Raymond schreef aansprekende liederen, die in de jaren twintig en dertig heuse schlagers waren, en later verschillende operettes, waaronder de nog altijdpopulaire Maske in Blau: Die Juliska aus Budapest (1937). Deze vlotte, vrolijke operette heeft zelfs iets weg van een musical.
