Piano Adventures?-The Piano Adventures?: Gold Star Performance Level 2B is an adventurous collection for the late-elementary pianist featuring changing moods keys and hand positions. The series offers performance pieces ???with a challenge.??? This collection may also be used as a graduation book to improve artistic technical and rhythmic skills before advancing to the next level.As the title Gold Star suggests these pieces are especially appropriate for recitals and other musical events. The sultan Shakriar convinced of the falshood and inconstancy of all women had sworn an oath to put to death each of his wives after the first night. However the sultana Scheherazade saved her life by arousing his interest in the tales which she told him during 1001 nights. Driven by curiosity the sultan postponed her execution from day to day and at last abandoned his sanguinary design. Scheherazade told many miraculous stories to the sultan. For her tales she borrowed verses from the poets and words from folk songs combining fairy-tales with adventures.

'Le Voyage Dans La Lune is a continuous orchestral score of approximately 14 minutes comprising two outer fast sections and a slower inner section of a dream-like character. The work is directly inspired by the film Le Voyage Dans La Lune (1902) written and directed by the pioneering French film-maker Georges Méliès. Méliès was influenced by 19th century interests in science and discoveries as well as the science fiction of Jules Verne. At the same time his work seems fantastic surreal and satirical. Some critics point out an underlying critique of colonial adventuring. The plot centres on a group of astronomers who decide tolaunch a rocket to the moon containing a handful of their number. They reach the moon (famously landing on the moon?s face) and then encounter a strange race of aliens whom they battle and destroy. The return to earth involves a dramatic descent a plunge into the ocean and then celebratory dancing. The film inhabits a surreal and dream-like space and uses an idiosyncratic visual language which transforms reality. This inspired an active musical response in my own score which is by turns abrupt smooth lyrical and violent and expresses something of the strange shifting surfaces and multiple and layered tempos evident in the film. The canons in the horns in the first scene reflect the intense arguments of the astronomers as they consider the project. The slower inner section is inspired by the scenes of the industrial City viewed from its rooftops by the astronomers. It also expresses the wonder of the astronomers as they see the earth rise from the perspective of the moon after their arrival there. The music of the final section is in places conflicted reflecting the violent encounters with the moon?s inhabitants. It moves into a more harmonious phase at the close to match the celebrations upon the astronomers? return from their adventuring. The music could be considered to be a surreal mini-opera

Hans Werner Henze, adhérant à l'äs de ses intentions, un compositeur et professeur, a déjà fait à disposition pour la participation par une, banda' de musiciens amateurs dans la version originale de son arrangement de Don Chisiotte de Giovanni Paisiello (1769), qui a reçu son premier spectacle en 1976 à la première Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte à Montepulciano. Les mouvements contenues dans l'opéra ont été combinées en une suite. Norbert Studnitzky a organisé les morceaux pour bande de l'orchestration qui est reconnue internationalement. Composed by John Powell the exciting and emotionally powerful music from the film How to Train Your Dragon has taken on a life of its own featuring magnificent adventure themes along with hints of Celtic influences.

Par BALAZS ARPAD. Television viewers of nearly a hundred countries have experienced Árpád Balázs's touching melodies. The series of cartoons have neither dialogue nor text: the music presents the amiable and entertaining adventures of the rabbit with chequered ears and its friends. Balázs has rephrased and developed the well-known melodies and as a result a ''children's story symphony'' of seven movements has been created in which, in contrast with Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, there is no narrator but the instruments themselves represent the story-tellers. The composer has again associated the groups of instruments with one another in a colourful and varied manner, skilfully alternating the modes of solo, chamber orchestra and orchestra. Movements I, II, IV and VII represent a ''short suite'' that can be independently performed, thus due to its duration of four minutes and easier level, ensembles with more modest opportunities can also perform it. The most well-known parts of the cartoon series music - the main title and the ending - are included in both versions./ Répertoire / Concert Band
