This piece worked perfectly for my needs. I have a quartet of two clarinets, one trumpet and one treble clef baritone horn - all B-flat instruments. So, we just used the music as written except we removed Taps and inserted the Merchant Marine hymn at the end. We are using this for a 2020 motified Veteran's Day ceremony in which our whole community band usually covers. Thank you for this wonderful piece! Also, I am a Taps bugler and I want to thank you for the correct version of Taps. Although, I am not sure it really fits in this piece, never the less, people have the correct version if they need it.
The keys you've put these songs in are WAY TOO HIGH!!! Not sure who you are composing these for - but, your average person can't sing these in the keys you've provided. I wouldn't go higher than an Eb above MIDDLE C. Just a recommendation.
Also - TAPS doesn't belong in this medley. This particular medley is generally sung on VETERANS DAY - Not Memorial Day.
When sung, the particular military branch of service stands up, and sings their portion.
Thus, I would recommend providing some "vamp" time, enough time to let that branch, next to sing, to stand up. But - I'm nit picking on this one. BUT - I do feel Taps is inappropirately placed in this medley.
Good job though - exactly what I was looking for with some modifications on my part in FINALE.
Ummmmmm - Taps doesn't belong in this - and the keys you've chosen is WAY TO high! WAY too high. I was able to import into FINALE and put it into singable keys - LOL!!!!!
