We considered this piece as "traditional" due to the difficulty of framing the figure of the author, a «dilettante» who played in the music group of a small Emilian country (Gualtieri), and who did not leave biographical or critical news about himself.

LYRICS
Noi siamo i poveri, siamo i pezzenti,
la sporca plebe di questa età,
la schiera innumere dei sofferenti
per cui la vita gioie non ha.
Nel crudo inverno la nostra prole
per lunga inedia languir vediam,
solo sui ricchi risplende il sole,
Mentre essi esultano noi fame abbiam.
Pur natura a tutti eguali
die’ i diritti sulla terra:
noi facciamo un'aspra guerra
a ladroni ed oppressor.
Non sia pace tra i mortali
finchè un uom' sovr'altro imperi:
i nemici a noi più fieri
sono i nostri sfruttator.

(We are the poor, we are the bumpers, the dirty plebeians of this age, the innumerable host of the sufferers, who don't know any joy. During the hard winter we see our children suffering from lack of food. The sun shines only on the rich: while they rejoice, we are hungry. Yet the nature has given equal rights to everyone; we make a fierce war against thieves and oppressors. There will be no peace among the mortals as long as some man will want to dominate the other people: our worst enemies are our exploiters.)
