I began writing these short pieces for organ solo in
2007 with a view toward composing rather simple pieces
that did not require concert-organist skills or an
organ with vast specifications. Most of these short
pieces can be played without pedal. This one (No. 40)
is a bit tricky in terms of finger substitutions in
order to keep the legato style throughout, but it is a
lot of fun to play once you figure out the appropriate
fingering.
