At this time he teamed-up with Frederick Brand and started performing throughout Germany as a guitar duo, until his death in 1866. On the 2nd October 1866 Darr, who suffered under depressions, committed suicide. Darr composed several pieces for guitar and a method for zither. There are publications of his guitar Duets in 'Gitarristische Vereinigung e.V.' numbered from I to XIII; two appear as XIV-a and XIV-b (No. XIII is titled 'Dessert') and there is also a Serenade for two guitars. All these pieces can be found in the Boije Collection. Unfortunately these works were not published during his lifetime. Before these editions of Darr's Duets, no music of his had been published.
