Born in Paris in 1958, Richard Resseguier studied at the Conservatoire International de Musique de Paris. As early as 1982, he was drawn to composition as his preferred means of expression, and creating music became a vital need. In 1988 in Nice, he perfected his piano and interpretation technique under the direction of Magda Brard (international concert pianist and a student of Alfred Cortot). At the Conservatory in Nice that year, he earned an honorary award in excellence (piano) in the National Music Competition for his magnificent interpretation of G. Fauré's Barcarolle No. 4, and then an honorary award and first prize in virtuosity. In 1991, he became a piano teacher, organizing predominantly musical shows for students and other performers. In 1992 in Senlis, he was congratulated by G. Cziffra for his "touch" in his interpretation of a Chopin prelude and drew attention for the quality of his composition, Marche funèbre. In 1996, he released a CD of 14 original autobiographical compositions for piano accompanied by an instructional book. Richard Resseguier's desire to please others with music encourages them to discover the magnificence of his works through their imagination. His approach provides the inspiration to create pieces specifically to accompany images, movies, shows, advertising and radio, and also embodies the rich, varied method he applies to his workshops and teaching.
