I had been wanting to compose a simple piano piece for
a while, considering my lacking skills on the
instrument. Thus, this piece was made so I had a
composition I was actually capable of playing on the
piano! I wanted to emulate the "furniture" style of
music popularized by the eccentric Erik Satie, and give
it my own twist. The phrases are slightly longer than
Satie's Gymnopedies (the pieces I emulated) and also do
not encounter as many bizarre and jarring chordal
modulations.
All piano sheet music of this great contemporary composer.

Long time no see!
Written on 2011-11-09 by quantumdylan Been a long time since I
updated here. Okay, here is
the thing, I am not dead!
Quite the opposite, I have
been hard at work. Thus year I
have:
Started taking AP Music theory
at my high school, nearly
finished the piece that I have
been working on (sketches in c
major), started to compose a
musical in honor of my late
clarinet teacher, Andrew
Anthony Mormile, and have also
started to write an opera, and
a demned good one at that!
Besides my composing work, I
finished the rearrangement of
Rhapsody in blue for clarinet
octet, and you can hear that
if you head over to my youtube
channel,
www.youtube.com/quantumdylan53
.
Also, I am part of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra's
youth ensemble, and got to
play a lovely cadenza in Light
Calvalry overture. Plus, I
will be playing Begin the
Beguine in the jazz band for
my school. Mission
accomplished!
And besides even the
performance aspect of my busy
life, I am now the proud owner
of a zuckerman z-box
harpsichord with both 8'
and 4' octaves. I've
nearly gotten the 8'
restrung, and you can hear it
on my youtube channel as well.
As for everything else, I may
release some soundbites
relating to my opera soon, so
stay tuned
Love you all, Dylan Packard
Together
Written on 2011-02-06 by quantumdylan Hello everyone! I merely
wanted to let everyone know
that if anyone wants to play
the piece Together, I would
appreciate it if you would
talk to me first, as this is
one of the largest pieces
I've composed and it
represents a lot of my time.
Thank you very much!
