It's at the age of nineteen that Brahms discovered
gypsy music through the Hungarian violinist Eduard
Reményi who introduced him to the music of his country
and presented him with Joseph Joachim, who later became
his friend. Among the twenty-one Hungarian Dances,
composed over several years, the fifth is the most
famous and most played.
I am an advanced piano and trumpet player and I've played Hungarian Dance No. 5 on piano, and it is one of my favorites, I know its a good piece so am going to play it with the trumpet version which I'm sure is good also.
