I loved this piece as soon as I heard it. It is reasonably simple, but it still requires some musicianship to convey the elegance of it.
I would consider performing it in a recital. If I do, I might extend the length of the piece by doing the first high section (up to the D-flat) an octave lower a first time through; then on the second time through, play it as written, repeating that second time through, before playing the final few measures.
This unique series offers you the opportunity to play as a soloist accompanied by world-class musicians!
Each Music Minus One title includes a high-quality printed instrumental part or lyrics book plus
a compact disc with recordings of the piece's orchestral or piano accompaniments minus the soloist.
