Easier Piano Pieces 56-Telemann composed three dozen Fantasias which were published in 1732. He deliberately set out to juxtapose the French and Italian styles with the first and third (published here) dozen having Italian titles and tempo markings and the second dozen French. the editorial aim of these albums has been to present a text that allows as stylish a rendering as possible bearing in mind that the majority of players will be pianists rather than harpsichordists. Marks of dynamics and of articulation have been added and so have harmony notes of inner parts which would have been improvised by the player in an 18th-century performance.

The seven chorale fantasias by Max Reger are among the most important of organ repertoire ? masterpieces blending chorale melody and programmatic music based on the text of the chorales. Published on the occasion of the composer's 150th birthday, this fundamentally revised Urtext edition, in two volumes, is edited by the internationally renowned organist and Leipzig professor of organ Martin Schmeding. As one of the most influential Reger interpreters, Schmeding not only includes the latest research, but also addresses the need for a contemporary interpretation of the chorale fantasias on modern organs. The edition includes all the original dynamic and agogic indications (including continuation lines to cresc., etc., which are missing in many modern editions), as well as all the original registration and manual indications. The Bohuslav Martinu Complete Edition III/1/5. Par MARTINU BOHUSLAV. “Incarnation” (1956), Bohuslav Martinu’s fourth piano concerto, follows an atypical two-movement structure. It was composed for Martinu’s friend Rudolf Firkušný, who played from a copy of the autograph until 1970, when the composition was first put into print. The next work, “Concerto in B flat major for Piano and Orchestra”, known under the name “Fantasia Concertante”, was to be Martinu’s very last concert work. The concerto in three movements, composed at the request of Swiss pianist Margrit Weber, is quite different from the previous work in terms of its compositional means. In this case, Martinu strongly influenced the edition of the work. The present volume of the Complete Edition of works by Bohuslav Martinu is based mainly on contemporary copies containing the composer’s own modifications. Now all of Bärenreiter's new performing editions of Bach's organ works are being revised to reflect the current state of scholarship and to convey maximum fidelity to the sources by being linked to 'Bach digital'. The present volume is an updated edition of Series IV, Volume 6 of the 'New Bach Edition' (NBA), prepared by Dietrich Kilian in 1964. The discovery of new sources and a reassessment of existing handwritten copies have brought about changes to the contents of the volume, which now includes the 'Fantasia in C minor' (BWV 1121), the 'Fantasia in G major' (BWV 571), the 'Fugue in G major' (BWV 577) and the C major version of the 'Toccata and Fugue in E major' (BWV 566). Fantasia is a work for solo Violin composed by Peter Dickinson in 1959. The first performance was during the same year by Greek violinist Dinos Constantinides for whom the piece was written. According to the composer Fantasia is saturated with major sevenths and minor ninths with 'the widest range of compass tempo and texture'.

The nineteenth century saw an enthusuasm for Italian opera which live performance could never satisfy. In the absence of gramophone and radio the instrumental transcription flourished and composers often themselves virtuosoperformers found in the most popular arias ready material for their own sets of variations. Here is an outstanding example:Donato Lovreglio (1841-1907)played the flute and composed many pieces for his own instrument mainlyoperatic fantasias as well as a few for the clarinet.
