Approxima tely 9 minutes in length, the title ' Yellow Green ' is a tribute to the two colours of the Brazilian flag. The introduction gives way to a vast Fugue (marked Vivace) dipped in the colours of swing. The central Adagio floats a dreamy, timeless melody. The brief finale brings together the fugue's thematic material with one last recommendation for the performers: 'Feel jazz'. This invigorating work was recorded for the Chant de Linos label by its dedicatees, the Omega Quartet clarinetists.&rdquo.

Suzhou Gardens is inspired by the Classical Gardens of Suzhou. Alexander Rosenblatt wrote his own Chinese-style melody and spiced up the composition with jazz chords and harmonies. There are many fountains and waterfalls in the gardens, so he tried to depict theoverflows and colours of the murmuring water in his music.
