The cantata is a parody of the cantata of congratulations, Schlagt, Kunstler, die Pauken (BuxWV 122). Trumpets and timpani characterize the sound of the choral movements. In accordance with the scheme of the concerto-aria cantata, the concertante opening chorus is repeated at the end. The middle of the work consists of the aria, in which the four soloists assume allegorical roles, as well as the chorus "So denket und danket." In addition to the Christmas text, text variants have survived which make an Easter Sunday performance possible. This text has been printed in the edition below the Christmas text. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3603200.
