This haunting portrayal of Calvary focuses on the soldiers as they wager for Jesus’ robe, hear Him take His final breath, and stand in silent wonder at the cross. The traditional spiritual "Jacob’s Ladder" brilliantly establishes the somber mood while moving the agonizing story forward, scene by scene.
