This facsimile of an original by Jean-Jacques Beauvarlet-Charpentier is part of our French classical music collection. Edition : Paris, Le Duc, Chevardiese, 1784/1785.
Preface by: Philippe Lescat. Biography of Beauvarlet-Charpentier and catalogue of his works. Jean Saint-Arroman: alternation of organ pieces and plain chant. Journal d'orgue no. 6 : Messe royale de Dumont . Journal d'orgue no. 9 : Deux Magnificat . The preface contains a list of the composer's works, the complete alternation of organ and plainchant in the mass, and the faux-bourdons for the Magnificat. The present edition is intented to serve as a basis for a reconstruction of a French service from the late XVIIIth century (Beauvarlet-Charpentier's mass, Dumont's plainchant and Gluck's motet). The inauguration of the historic organs of Semur-en-Auxois, whose make up perfectly suits the works to be played, was chosen for the realisation of this reconstruction. Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers). He is the author of the majority of our prefaces and has also been involved in library searches. Facsimile of copies from: - Municipal Library of Dijon (France). - Sainte-Genevieve Library of Paris (France). Anne Fuzeau Classique propose period copies of classical music scores.
