This collection of 36 songs is generally light-hearted however, there are some pieces that are more rigorous - notably the 2 canons by Richardo Rogniono and the canon in inversion by Rogniono Taeggio. 36 songs in all. Score Giovanni Giacomo Gastoldi (c. 1550 - c. 1609), was an Italian Baroque composer. Between 1572 and 1608 active in the Gonzaga court in Mantua, he composed two influetial sets of balletti, strophic vocal dance-songs. He is also author of madrigals, sacred vocal music and a small amount of instrumental music.
