Initially organist at Horn, near Krems, from 1602, he became Protestant organist in Steyr in 1609 but lost this post on his return to Catholicism. His 4-part Newen Padovanen ... (1611) was the first German ensemble publication to group dances into 4-movement variation suites, each movement being based on the same material. He also published two further volumes of dances, and one of songs.
