Little is known about the life and work of Francesco Molino. We only know that he was born in Florence in 1775 and was a bandmaster at the Theater of Arts in Turin, that he went on several concert tours as a guitarist, which took him to Spain, among other places, and that he settled in Paris from 1820 and died there around 1847.Of Francesco Molino's works, several trios for flute, violin or viola and guitar were published, a guitar school, several sonatas, and two nocturnes for flute or violin and guitar. The second of the nocturnes presented here is based on the first printing of 1825.
