It was completed in May of 1990 and given its premiere three months later at the Cape and Islands Music Festival in Cape Cod. The Trio is in one movement in an arch-like form whose tonal structure is derived from its thematic material. The work contrasts broadly lyrical melodies with more energetic and contrapuntal material. Premiered by the Eroica Trio Cape and Islands Music Festival, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, August 8, 1990 CD recording: Albany Records TROY684 William Terwilliger, violin Andres Diaz, cello Andrew Cooperstock, piano.
