Composed by Heinrich Ignaz Biber. Edited by John Craton. Chamber music. Sonata for violin and continuo, arranged for violin and piano. Early Baroque. Score and part. Duration 13 minutes. Wolfhead Music #WM502. Published by Wolfhead Music (WF.WM502).

Originally composed for violin and continuo, this edition has been realized for violin and piano. The sonata requires standard G, D, A, E tuning and is highly programmatic, as its name implies. Taking motifs from the "Musurgia Universalis," the sonata creates musical representations of several animals (nightingale, cuckoo, frog, hen, and cat) and also incorporates a musketeer’s march for good measure. Edited by John Craton.
