Er nahm eine herausragende Stellung durch seine didaktischen Werke für Violine ein, bestehend aus Sammlungen von Etüden und kleinen Stücken. Das bekannte Kinderlied Ah! Vous dirai-je, Maman hat er in acht Variationen für vier Violinen bearbeitet, wobei jede Violine mal virtuose Parts übernimmt. Als Quelle diente die Erstauflage, zudem wurden Fingersätze ergänzt.
