Composed by Trad. English. Arranged by Marilyn Rummel. Concert,Folk,Praise & Worship,Standards. Score and parts. 4 pages. Demand Music #4278295. Published by Demand Music (A0.849944).

The Water is Wide, also known as O Waly Waly is an old English Folksong. The tune has been widely used in a church context for a number of hymns, including As longs the hart, and many others, and this arrangement could be used for any of those.

It is in the key of C, with the harp taking the first melody, and the flute coming in on the second with harp accompaniment. Third verse is the harp melody again with the flute playing a descant kind of harmony above.

It could of course be played by any C instrument such as violin, oboe, trombone. Also available is a setting in the key of F, more suitable for singing, set for harp and alto recorder.

Included is the score for harp and a separate flute part. Easy harp - a nice big range, and fancy-sounding, but easy to play chords.
