Wake Me Up starts with the brass playing the rhythmic opening, before the trombone takes the melody lead. As the drums enter, the trumpets take the melody. The ensemble builds through the introduction of the famous synth line and into the first chorus. A second verse and double chorus give the band time to get the crowd dancing up a storm! This arrangement is suitable for a confident and well-rounded school or community ensemble with a lead trumpet player capable of a high D. It includes an optional keys part for stage performances, and where you feel adding rhythm section players could bolster your ensemble. Wake Me Up works equally well with an acoustic New Orleans-style brass band ensemble on the street, or with production support on the stage.
