Ron Grainer's characterful theme for the BBC TV sitcom 'Steptoe and Son'. The music beautifully captures the plodding journey of a Rag and Bone man's horse as the travel on their collection trip around the streets of Shepherd's Bush area of London in the earl 1960's. Scored lightly for Clarinet, Baritone Sax, Trombone, Guitar and percussion the arrangement tries to capture the battle between the two main characters in the sitcom by splitting between the instruments whilst life and the horse continue to plod on regardless.
