Brass Quintet - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.775144

Composed by Maceo Pinkard. Arranged by Bill Wilson. Blues. 11 pages. Alexander Wilson #3529593. Published by Alexander Wilson (A0.775144).

Blues and jazz master composer Maceo Pinkard's "Anti-Loafin' Blues" is a slow, grinding blues number. This classic blues number was written toward the end of World War I as a patriotic song, extolling men who had qualified for draft exemptions on the basis of supporting a dependent family to be sure to provide that support.   Ultimately sympathy for men supporting dependent families waned and in 1943 this exemption class was retired. Arranged for brass quintet (two Bb trumpets, French horn, trombone, and tuba). Performance time is approximately 2:20. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
