"Pastorale and Romp is an Impressionistic style trio with a Baroque structure. A binary piece in which each section is also binary form. The two sections of the Pastorale depict a gathering of birds and then wind through the meadow grasses. Playful springtime lambs inspire the character of the Romp. The musical ideas in the first section reappear in inversion and retrograde in the second section.".
