"High Could Cat", Irish Traditional for Euphonium Quartet, arranged by Sarah Houle, 2021.

This quick and cheerful arrangement of the hornpipe tune more often called, "The Rights of Man", is short, but fun. I chose the name, "High Could Cat", because I just liked the sound of it better. Plus, it's more vague and intriguing...and I can't find anything more on that title anywhere.

"High Could Cat" for Euphonium Quartet is a fairly straight AABBAA arrangement with a short introduction and an interlude for added interest. This arrangement is a little atypical for my style in that I have chosen to largely keep the Euphonium 4 part on the bass line. The other three parts, however, do toss the melody back and forth and the added ornamentation adds a little sparkle to the lines.

Enjoy "High Could Cat"!
