There is plenty of scope for all sections to make an important contribution to the performance. Even the back row cornets have semiquavers! Although aimed primarily at adult bands, this arrangement could be handled by a good school band as well. The most difficult parts are the euphoniums and horns when the accompaniment becomes more florid. The kit percussion part has scope for the drummer to show off his/her skills.
This piece, with its association with gospel music is great for church services as well as concert programs and would make a really good 1st half finisher. There is scope to get the audience involved, too. The score and parts supplied are British Brass Band parts, with all instruments except bass trombone in Treble clef. Other parts are available on request at no cost.
