Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.758973

Composed by Gioachino Rossini. Arranged by Timothy J. Olt. Romantic Period. 105 pages. Olt Music #2894503. Published by Olt Music (A0.758973).

La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie) opera is best remembered as are most of Rossini's works - by the wonderful overture! This one is no exception. A true audience pleaser, this will also provide a serious challenge for collegiate to professional level musicians.

This work is scored for an unusual instrumentation for a sax ensemble. The work calls for 2 soprano, 2 alto, 2 tenor and 2 baritone saxes, but is actually divided into 2 sax quartets. This is to allow for use as a side-by-side work for student and professional ensembles.

There are also percussion parts.  Although they may be considered optional, the piece works best with at least the snare drum.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
