Minimalist music is often associated with a performance practise that is either separate from the human qualities that make traditional music attractive, or else is presumed as intended to be performed in a mechanistic or rigid fashion. Listen to any of Phillip Glass' solo piano recordings, and you will find them overtly Romantic in mood and musical practise. I play these pieces with those same Old School, traditional musical values of interpretation. It makes for an satisfying musical experience for both performer and listeners alike.
