The piece has been arranged for a quartet of tenor saxophone, horn in F, trumpet in Bb, and cello, and shortened to 2.5 minutes duration. The arrangement is suitable for players of Grade 5 and above.

Some notes on the parts:

- The tenor saxophone will need two high Fs above the stave (written).
- The horn will need two top Gs (written). 
- The trumpet will need a few top As (written).
- The cello is directed to play col legno for the first 24 bars. This playing technique optional if the player finds it challenging; ordinary bowing can be used throughout.

The piece is mostly in 5/4 time signature.
