Published by Dacker Music (A0.1391834).Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was a French composer, organist, and pianist who, along with his contemporaries Claude Debussy and Gustav Mahler, is often considered a transition figure from the Romantic into the 20th Century periods of music history.
Fauré's Pavane, Op. 50 of 1886 is one of his best-known compositions. It was, like some of Debussy's music, originally composed for piano but later orchestrated by the composer, and today it is usually heard in that version.
